Day 19- Time.......

Time is very precious and it was nice to get some comp time before the next 2 weeks of meetings.
I got to get some much needed rest and I actually got 30 minutes on the elliptical!!!
YAY!!!

Day 18- A Losing Streak!!!

No- not losing weight.... Losing complete momentum! I began my day at 3:00 and got home from work about 6:30. Lunch was delivered since we had staff development for our teachers all day long. After we finished the day, we stacked chairs, collected and moved materials, moved tables....TIRED!!!!! It was a marathon day for me, without the benefits of a marathon.

Unfortunately, the next 2 weeks will mirror this same type of schedule starting Wednesday and the first thing off of the schedule will be the minuscule "5 minutes on the elliptical".....
In addition to this- I slipped in the shower and bruised myself after a really hard landing. I lost my breath for a bit and couldn't get up.... It was scary and now I have added extra physical pain to the Physically and mentally demanding days ahead.

Lord- I need you to be closer to me now than ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well- This too, shall pass, and it will take all that I have and more....

I will have to put aside any dreams I ever had of 365 days of anything!

Today I logged ZERO.

Day 17- Marathon day

.... not for me, but for my family! Phil, Mandy and Chris ran the half-marathon and Jake completed his first full marathon- Quite an accomplishment! I am so proud of them all!
I, on the other hand, did 5 minutes on the elliptical using the last bit of energy I had after starting the day at 3:00.
This is not going well at all for me!

Day 16- Much better!!!

I just did 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer and it went well!!!
I watched HGTV while I worked out and that ALWAYS makes the time pass more quickly!

Day 15- Just Barely....

Today was a very HECTIC day at work preparing for the two weeks ahead that will be equally demanding.
5 minutes on the Elliptical........

I do hope that this is the end of the 5 min. trend! I amy just have to get up at 3:30 a.m. to be sure to get it in...

Day 14- Minimum expectation.....

5 minutes on the Elliptical....... does that even count???
Phil thought I was "cheating"...... I may re-think that for future dates, but that was ALL I had today!

Day 13...........................

Nothing really exciting to blog about today- 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer.
Today was just a "git r done"...
Later-

Day 12- Look out Rocky!!!!

Attended the 5:30 Spin class with Cathy this morning- AWESOME!!

... and I am "feeling Stronger"... so hum that Rocky tune as you read this!! :-)

Cathy played a song, "Open My Mind" and it was nice to focus on that and really isolate the demands I was placing on my body and the realize that I am already reaping a benefit fr0m sowing the commitment of just "showing up"...

Nice, too that Phil went with me this morning!

Great way to start the day!!!

Day 11- Gettin' a rhythm......

It was nice to not struggle to complete 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer!

I wasn't focused on the timer and I sorta' enjoyed the workout!!!! This is nice when there is a turning point and physically you feel stronger so working out is not a 4-letter word!

I still am eager to get to the point of LOOKING FORWARD to a workout.... We'll see how it goes with a 5:15 a.m. Spin class tomorrow morning.

Day 10- Double DIGITS!!!!!!

It really isn't THAT impressive, but it was the first thing that popped in my head.... 10 Days!

I finally made it to a Spin Class this weekend!!!!! YAY!!!!
Matthew took us a little overtime, and I burned almost 500 calories!!!!
I got bike #29.... I'm going to try to ride that one EVERY time- I'm a little territorial!

I ended the evening with a worship service at a church in Spring to see Kari Jobe- She is INCREDIBLE!!! It was a great day!

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 9- Spin Class at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday????

NO WAY!!!!! It was 19 degrees this morning!!!!
I stayed under the nice warm blankets and turned off the alarm clock!!

I did, however increase my time on the Elliptical trainer today to 45 minutes- YAY!!!

Phil & I enjoyed a great sandwich from Chelsey's after our workouts- DELISH!!!!

My son-in-law is hunting this weekend- That is nuts!!! It is toooooooo cold!

Day 8- TGIF!!!!!

Wow!!! What a work week!!! and C-O-L-D!!!!!!!!
I made it home and Phil waited for me to put 30 minutes on the Ellitical trainer before we went out to our favorite Italian restaurant and we even ordered dessert tonight!!!!!
YUM!!!!
I'm lovin' it!!!!
I actually am looking forward to Spin class in the morning and a nice visit from Mandy later in the afternoon!!!!
Peace Out!

Day 7- Hook 'em Horns!!!

Colt McCoy is the BEST!!!!
He is the reason that I am a Longhorn fan (besides the fact that I live in Texas ....)

I was able to put 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer before enjoying pizza and getting comfy with my snuggy to watch the game.

I am looking forward to a Spin class or 2 this weekend!!!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Day 6- Too late to spin....

No worries!!!!
I got home too late to make it to Spin class tonight.......
So I logged 30 minutes on the Elliptical trainer!!!
Topped it off with some good Mexican food from Azteca! Yum!!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ...........

January 5- 28 Degrees COLD!!!!!!!!
Got to the gym shortly after 5:00 a.m. for Cathy's Spin Class
Early, cold mornings compete for my desire to stay in my comfy, warm bed....
I know it's out there...... the place where my desire to get to class is stronger than
any reason NOT to!!!! I long for that day when my early a.m. post starts with,
"I couldn't wait to get to class this morning!!!"
Class was good.
Knees were not.
This too will improve over time. (By faith!!!!!!)
360 more days to go.....

Full Meal Deal.....

January 4- 30 minutes on the Elliptical after my first full day back at work after my 2 weeks
of vaca......
Getting home at 7:00 played some heavy mental games on my one hour drive
home.
......But HEY!!!! It's only my 4th commitment day- I'm not that wimpy!!!!
Eating some Cheetos waiting for Phil to get home from Spin class to see about
dinner.....
Still not adding the eating part..... Not a shocker!!! Maybe I will find the motivation
for that, but right now, that is actually adding fuel to keep me thrilled about the
exercise part.

Pleasant Surprise.....

Spin class with Shannon this afternoon, and it was a GREAT workout!!!!!
Shannon did what she called a "circuit routine" which basically meant that in 1-minute increments we changed the expectation, but heart rates stayed high and the flow and music allowed us to work hard!!!! AWESOME class!!!! It has been nice to get back into this and I look forward to getting stronger!!!! I like bike #29!!!
.....Came home and enjoyed some awesome home-made soup and blueberry muffins!!! YUMMY!!!!
(I said that I was NOT setting my diet as a goal at this time!!!!)

Day 2... So far so good!

I am determined to spend one year recording my efforts to spend the next 363 days as the Year of Elliptical or Spin in 2010 (YES in 2010).....
The movie, "Julie and Julia" motivated me to keep a record of some aspect of my life for 365 days, so my husband helped me start this blog that will likely only be read by him or me. My only aspiration with this is to get physically stronger..... If, in the process, I drop some of the "junk in my trunk" that would be pretty awesome!!! (That would probably require a little commitment to monitoring/ reducing my food intake which currently is NOT my goal with this blog!!!) I want to keep it real!

January 1- 30 minutes on the ellipitical trainer while watching the Rose Bowl parade.
I'm normally disinterested in watching the parade, but as a distraction I fount it
quite appealing!

January 2 (today)- Spin class at the YMCA- Matthew's class.
It has been over a month since I've exercised and it would have been easy
to talk myself out of it and stay in my warm, comfortable bed. That mental
struggle is the worst!!! I made it through the class and look forward to
getting in the daily routine!!! (That is much easier said after a shower and
breakfast buffet!!!!) I am thinking that Biofreeze may become my "friend".
